Q1: What is Double Partition & Decoy Vault?
EncryptaNote features a Dual-Vault setup for decoy safety. You can set up two independent passwords:
- Master Password: Opens your real list of secret entries.
- Ghost Password: Instantly opens an empty decoy vault. Use this under surveillance or when asked to unlock the app.
Q2: How do I transfer notes to another offline device?
1. On the settings page of your source device, locate Data Import & Export, click the 'Export .zip' button to generate a ZIP backup file containing all encrypted data.
2. Move this file to the target device, unlock with the same password, and click Restore Database. The import runs entirely locally without network interaction.
Q3: Why are my imported premium backups read-only?
If an imported .ZIP contains structures exceeding free-tier limits (such as parallel folders, more than 20 entries, or nested files), the vault enters safe read-only viewer mode. Upgrade to Premium instantly restores absolute write capabilities.
Q4: Where are the exported files / backup files saved?
The location depends on your device platform:
• Android users: Exported files are saved in the Documents folder of your phone's internal storage. Please do not open the "Documents" category displayed on the home page of your file manager. Instead, go to your phone's internal storage (which may be shown as "Internal Storage", "My Phone", or the device name depending on the brand), and then open the Documents folder to find the exported files.
• Apple (iPhone/iPad) users: The files are saved directly to the location you choose in the export popup. Please open the iOS "Files" app and navigate to that selected path.
Q5: How do I use encrypted files in other APPs in the future?
Since this APP can import most file types for encrypted storage, you can restore them to normal files whenever needed:
Simply open the corresponding attachment, enter the attachment details page, and click the "Decrypt & Export" button.
• Android users: The decrypted files will be saved in the Documents folder of your phone's internal storage. Please do not open the "Documents" category displayed on the home page of the file manager, but go to your phone's internal storage and open the Documents folder to find them.
• Apple (iPhone/iPad) users: The decrypted files will be saved in the location you select when exporting. Please go to the corresponding saving path to find them.
